The role and purpose of the Academies
Your first steps as a newborn will be to step foot in one of the esteemed learning institutions of Avalon, located in the city of your birth, and begin your training.
Upon creation of a newborn character in Avalon, you will find yourself born in either the northern city of Silverfalls, the eastern city of Parrius, the southern cityport of Mercinae, or the western city of Thakria. All cities boast fine learning centres where you will learn a core of skills. It is essential to join either the Academy of Mercinae, the College of Parrius, the Orphanage of Silverfalls or the Institute of Thakria during your novicehood regardless of whether you wish to learn there - the mere act of joining gives you the core skills.
