When I was a newborn in Avalon, some 100 years ago, the world appeared to be overwhelmingly vast, with so many intricate details as to be incomprehensible. I was, contrary to popular belief, originally fathered by none other city than Parrius, but a powerful and mighty Cavalier named Sir Yossarian took me under his wing, and thus I moved from my place of birth to the western city of Thakria, and to the Cavaliers. I remained loyal, and slowly my prowess in the land increased, and I began to take part in the day-to-day running of my City. I eventually attained the exulted post of Guildhead, and to this day, I have not looked back, and continue to revel in the malevolance, intrinsic evil, and above all, responsibility of this position.
The vastness of Avalon gave me, a Cavalier, new to the trials and tribulations of Avalon life, the impression that I was a mere dot on the map, an insignificant nothing, and that I have little to no bearing on the passing of time in the land. When I was but growing, those outside the Thakrian walls were fairly ignorant to my existance, but we all learnt that to grow in Avalon, one must start small and work ones way up the ladder of power. In this way, all who enter the land have a bearing, an impact on other people, and it left to the individual to decide which form this impact will take. Whether for good or for evil, for war or for peace, we all choose one path and consequently forge our own destiny.
Some may think that, as I have been around for so long, life in Avalon must surely become boring? Quite to the contrary, however - when I was new to the land, it was in a very different state than it is today. As time continues along its unerring course, new inventions and startling new abilities are constantly being discovered. The land of Avalon unfolds before us, and poses a challenge for even the most intrepid adventurer.
Throughout my life in Avalon, I have faced many trials to prove the aptitude of my passage from inept swordsman to elite Cavalier, and so there will be for everyone else who enters the land, for those who dare.....
