All of the ministries and the Field Marshall and Prime Minister high offices enjoy the privilege of selecting a deputy or second-in-command. This person inherits almost every command, power and authority of the Minister or Marshall and is invariably the closest and most trusted ally/friend to the office holder. It is one of Avalon's most unequivocal of declarations and can only be held by one person at any given time. Thus: one Minister, one deputy, many aides.
Syntax: DEPUTY <person> <ministry/position>.
This is the command used to make public declaration of a new deputy or second-in-command. It is available to the State Minister, the Chancellor, the Foreign Minister, the Trade Minister, the Public Relations Minister, the Field Marshall, the Justice Minister and the Prime Minister. It can be given out to only one person at a time. He or she must be a fellow citizen. The DEPUTY declaration is logged in actions and broadcast all over the city. It automatically takes away deputy powers from anyone else who may previously have held the honour.
For <ministry/position> use STATE for State Ministry, CHANCELLORY for the Deputy Chancellor appointment, FOREIGN/TRADE/RELATIONS/JUSTICE for those four ministries referred to above, MARSHALL for Deputy Field Marshall (second in command of the entire army) and PM for the Deputy Prime Minister declaration.
NOTE: deputy should not be a higher rank than the minister proposing the second-in-command position e..g. the Foreign Minister cannot make the Prince a deputy. Deputy cannot be an LW.
Syntax: DEPUTIES.
Gives you a quick list of all the deputy or second-in-command positions in your home city and the individuals fortune enough to hold the various deputy ranks.
Syntax: GOVERNMENT.
Provides an up-to-date list of your home city's government: all positions, high office holders and deputies (if chosen) from Prince and Cardinal and baronial council, through Ministers and special ranks like Librarian and Quest Master.
