Avalon is a product of the meeting of many minds, and their works. Below is a list of some of the inspirational characters who have formed the world of Avalon.
Avalon began as a precursor multi-user game Lands of the Crown (LotC) and was given the name AVALON in October 1989 prior to the Adventure 1989 exhibition. Its gamecode and gamelanguage were conceived and written by Yehuda M Simmons, initially on the BBC Micro Model B, then the Acorn Archimedes A440 and subsequently ported onto Debian Linux in C. It joined the internet in 1994 under the avalon..co..uk and avalon-rpg.com domains based in London. It relocated from London to the United States in 1995 and has been situated by the MAE-EAST hub in Vienna VA for over 20 years.
