Scrumping is the art of eyeballing one's locale, picking out a desired target - generally fruit, nuts, something edible - and then quickly getting to the target, retrieving it for one's own permanent use or possession. It is typically associated with scallywag apple thieves who scrump orchards, entering stealthily, nipping up fully-laden trees, shaking down the apples and then running away with armfuls of the ripe fruit.
To scrump as an adult requires a surprisingly high level of expertise in the Farming skill and, once attained, the method can often prove highly addictive. Type SCRUMP followed by the fruit or nut (for instance) you wish to seek out. Within moments you will have honed in on any in the locale and, if your scrump is found, will be ascending towards it before most folk will have had time to blink. Seconds will pass and you will, by then, be within arm's reach of your target fruit/nut. Then you decide - SHAKE it free, eat it, cut it loose, the choice, after all, is the scrumper's delight!
