It is possible to communicate in an extra-Avalon manner using the CC command. This is a way to call across the land, no matter your character's state, bypassing restrictions and prying eyes and ears, to speak with those with whom you have some kind of legitimate close affinity: your fellow guildmembers, citizens of your city, those who share your profession, folks on your friends list, followers of the same divinity, etc. The DUMB command can be used by ranked individuals to silence abusive or spamming novices but otherwise nothing can interfere with free-use of the calling system.
The easiest way to use the CC command is to add a single letter, which determines the type of calling you are using, and then simply include what you wish to call to those privileged to hear. You may also use the full version of the command, CC followed by the designation (e..g. CITY or GUILD) and then what you wish to say. Below is a list of the most concise CC versions:
CCC <text> to call to citizens of your homeland city.
CCG <text> to speak with members of your guild only.
CCF <text> to talk with personal friends listed on FRIENDS (see HELP FRIENDS).
CCA <text> to speak to your allies: guildmates, citymates, declared friends.
CCP <text> to send your calling to all those who share your profession.
CCO <text> to call out to everyone in your order, followers of the same deity.
CCN <text> to speak only with novices and public relations ministries.
CCM <text> to communicate with fellows in your city's military (see HELP ARMY).
CCJ <text> to communicate with everyone in the city's Justice ministry.
CCQ <text> to speak to those with competitor status (see COMPETITORS).
CCT <text> to speak with members of your Team (in divinely-run Quests).
CCTT <text> to speak to all members of all teams in a current Quest.
CCFQ <text> to speak to everybody participating with you in a Flag Quest.
If you do not wish to hear one of the calling communication methods - for instance you may be busy, focussed elsewhere or simply desire peace-and-quiet you can BLOCK any of the channels via CC BLOCK <calling method> and then reverse this via CC UNBLOCK <calling method>. To cut calling out completely use CC BLOCK ALL, reversed via CC UNBLOCK ALL. Calling methods are: city, guild, profession, order, barony, military, fellows, questors, team, questors, friends and novices.
All CC commands are private. This means they bypass MORTAL watchers and snoopers and runebuggers and the like. Gods are able to join cities and guilds and professions at will unless city/guild patron restricts - thereby gaining access to calling channels. The BARONY, JUSTICE and MILITARY channels are deity-private except for omnipotents and city patron. The ORDER channels are totally private save patron deity. The FRIENDS channel is private and snoopblocked by default.
Role should be maintained in public and open channels - have a care for atmosphere and appropriate content. This applies particularly on CITY, GUILD and NOVICE channels. PROFESSION, QUESTORS, The more select the calling channel audience the less important this guideliness and BARONY, JUSTICE, MILITARY, and ORDER as closed channels are unrestricted content with no sun-censure (see HELP SUNBEAM) nor divine earwigging. The FRIENDS channel is your own closed group and has no sun-censure, no restrictions and is imposed upon solely under exceptional circumstances by direct admin-omni command only. All calling channels are logged and public channels remain accessible up to six months in advance, private channels one month and friends for 48 hours.
