The Guild Tournament bestows the Sceptre of the Night on the winning guild. The sceptre itself boasts numerous mysterious advantages and to list all of those here would detract from those benefits conferred on the victorious guild. A smattering have been included. It is well known that the sceptre brings great renown to the guild that possess it and thus such growth as recruitment of potentially enlistable men is increased enormously.
The sceptre's powers are brought about by evoking a storm-front whose eye resides above the sceptre's resting point in whichever guild commands it. The might of that storm-front is dependent on the number of individual guildmembers involved in its summoning. The storm-front is inherently hostile to all those not of the Sceptre's guild, whether fellow citizen, friend or no. The powers of the storm-front can only be evoked in the presence of the sceptre.
KNEEL SCEPTRE
"To begin evoking the sceptre's powers and bring about the storm front. Thirty seconds of uninterrupted kneeling brings about the storm whose might is thereafter enhanced by any fellow guild members doing likewise. The storm front dies away when all those involved in its creation are slain or departed the land.
Typing SCEPTRE followed by a named power brings it about. Some of the Sceptre's abilities are listed below:
SCEPTRE ISOLATION
Evoking:
Five seconds build-up and one kneeler required.
Effect:
Fog descends over area determined by stormfront. All those non-guildmembers will find their sight and senses much decreased.
SCEPTRE CONFLAGRATION
Evoking:
Ten seconds build-up and one kneeler required.
Effect:
Disorientation that randomizes exits typed in for those affected for 2 minutes.
SCEPTRE REVERANCE
Evoking:
Can only be evoked within one minute of the start of the night. One kneeler
is required but more enhance the power of the reverance.
Effect:
The spirits of the night, bestowed by the god himself with a touch of his divine essence, effect a boosting of health and mana on all guildmembers by three percent, per evoker, for the duration of the night. The effects are only felt within the storm-front.
SCEPTRE RAVENWING
Evoking:
Immediate effects and one kneeler required.
Effect:
Summons the god of the night's favourite raven whose presence, as a mount, allows the evoker to utilise the very eye of the storm-front to fly immediately to any city, village or such focal point in the land.
SCEPTRE ENTROPY
Evoking:
Immediate effects and two kneelers required.
Effect:
Inducing the thermal effects of the storm to separate enemies of the guild while within the stormfront.
SCEPTRE BLADES
Evoking:
Immediate effect. One kneeler required. Multiple evocations are possible but to a maximum of two.
Effect:
Summons the jet-black swords of Mephisto, god of the night. These swords act as a gateway to the God's own realm and when used summon his closest minion to aid the sword's wielder.
