City leaders, take note that the Quest Master and the Justice Minister are
hereby given access to the ARENA command, for use with combat training,
fight practice and challenges (where appropriate). The Arena is a self-
contained area offering a few dozen locations, easy to move around and
map out, suitable for all types of melee and perfect for practising the
complex art of fighting. Useful helpfiles are: HELP QUESTMASTER for the
Quest Master (and Justice Minister) for info on the ARENA command and
how to set things in motion; HELP COMPETITOR for everyone to read, to
understand the advantages of competitor status (equipment doesn't deplete,
experience loss is off, bloodlust restrictions are removed); and HELP
PRINCE for the city leaders wishing to give out Quest Master/Justice
Minister positions.
The Avalon Newsletter for 2009 is now in its final draft form and will soon
be winging its way to numerous lucky souls around the world. It attempts
to encompass the widespread evolution of the Avalon gamesystem over the
past year (the last newsletter we did was three years or so ago). As you
can imagine, it's fairly long despite being just a summary of many of
the gamesystem additions and a little synopsis of current affairs in the
four cities. We've included HELP PAGLOST1236 to give folks reading the
newsletter a flavour of new warfare. The Newsletter can be read via
HELP NEWS2009 - it is particularly significant for us as Avalon's twentieth
birthday is next month. In order to receive it via e-mail, or simply
to make sure your e-mail address is up-to-date with us (please do this) type
EMAIL followed by your current e-mail address. The newsletter will be
coming out sometime over the next seven days and initial feedback
suggests it's a most illuminating read.
