The IGNORE command reduces info - text received - to reduce spam; to make it easier to cope with what is going on around you. It attempts to de-clutter your screen by omitting some things from LOOK descriptions and not informing you of certain events in the land whose import is of no interest to you.
Syntax: IGNORING.
Shows you a simple list of all the events/messages you are set to ignore and/or those you could possibly ignore but are presently noticing as normal. The list will tell you how to refer to a particular event or set of messages should you wish to IGNORE or NOTICE it in future.
Syntax: IGNORE <what to ignore> and NOTICE <what was ignored> to reverse it.
IGNORE TREES will ignore trees about the land (save those roused to sentient state, or ent-shepherds), IGNORE CANOPY to ignore descriptions of the forest canopy's status (e..g.. when twined closed), IGNORE FORTS will ignore the oft-absorbing fortifications, IGNORE LEGIONS will ignore legions and many of the trappings of war (unless so significant they intrude on everyone), IGNORE WINDS will reduce what you see of the heavenly battles between Seers, and IGNORE OBJECTS will ignore everything in a location: fixtures and fittings and items. You will receive only the verbose permanent description. IGNORE effects can be reversed by using NOTICE, e..g. NOTICE TREES, NOTICE FORTS, NOTICE LEGIONS, NOTICE WINDS and NOTICE OBJECTS. You will see what you are ignoring when you type DEFENCES.
IGNORE LESSONS will cease telling you regularly when you accumulate more lessons for learning; NOTICE LESSONS reverses this. Type LESSONS on its own to verify you stand in a location suitable for gain and your character is fit for accumulating lessons.
IGNORE SERVICES will pay no heed to civic services in your location, e..g. passing ministry watchmen on patrol entering and leaving your immediate locale.
