The work on trinkets to purchase is almost done and HELP TRINKETS plus visiting the curiosity shops (ZOOM SHOPPING to get there fast) will give you a nifty list of options. We will roll in a clutch of new trinkets every month. Any trinkets encroaching adversely on game integrity or combat quality will be removed from the shop. Ideas are welcome: think quality of life items, conveniences, short-cut time saving trinkets for those who's time is short but want to be up to the mark ASAP.
Two commands you should all be aware of re: trinkets and the curiosity shops.
ONE: Detailed info on all trinkets can be found by typing TRINKET followed by its name+number as show in GOODS. You don't have to own the trinket or be in the curiosity shop to use this. Example: type TRINKET WINGS1191 and you'll get the rundown of the cherub wings (one of the three wing types avaiable in the shop) or TRINKET TRIANGLE1179 to see details of the diverse powers of this rather unique trinket.
TWO: you will now able to demo the trinkets under safe conditions to get a firsthand experience of what one does and how it works. All you need to do to demo a trinket is visit the curiosity shop and type DEMO followed by trinket+number e.g. DEMO WARHAMMER71.
You will then be able to play with the trinket for as long as you like so long as you have demo-time remaining. Everybody gets an hour of demo'ing time and this is replenished every New Year's Day. I think this is a neat way of giving people access and letting those who have a particular trinket they're into get a fair chunk of time with it, or those who want to scattergun their time can DEMO and return up to ten different items (there is a six minute minimum).
NOTE: it is not acceptable to use demo-trinkets in an aggressive or intrusive way. Demo is for you to discover a little more but there should be no interaction using the trinket on demonstration unless you have permission. Some items can't be demo'd. Most can be!
Hopefully the range of trinkets we've listed is an interesting and enjoyable mix. I think this is one of the nicest ways for players to support the land while receiving something cool and conveniencing and quality-of-life without encroaching on the battlefields of fighter, merchant, strategist, politician or altruist. All ideas for new trinkets are welcome.
We will be properly raising the curtain on the trinkets and curios at the end of this week but the shop is open, what you see in TRINKET <item> is available and if you want to slip in before we realise how badly we've underlisted some of the artifacts, now is your chance!
