Many of you will have been advising novices that the PRIZE for badges is wasted
if you learn any skills. This was the case to a point, but not entirely
accurate and changes have been made now to make sure no loss whatsoever occurs.
No skill levels will end up reduced. General skills will gain across the board and professional skills too unless you have reached certain maximums before
finishing your badges. We suggest more haste less speed is avoided: badge
learning, completion and prize attainment should be a \"first month\" goal for
all juniors.
First of all, if you learn general skill past Respected, it can be boosted
to Renowned (in all cases) or Grand-Master (for some, depending on your
profession). The specifics are explained in HELP PRIZE. This was not previously
being applied. It is now. Professional skills are boosted by the prize to a
maximum of Renowned level.
Do not dissuade the young from learning what they must. \"Pouches\" in
Scholarship, \"Autowake\" in Survival, and beginning to progress their basic
guild skills. These are important to understanding the badges in the first
place, especially the Safety, Skillful, Combat and Resurrection badges that
require them to understand skills and their application in different settings.
