And to other Thakrians: Squire Killinan.

Nobunaga Kureishito Wild Circe, The Witch-Queen

There is a principle at stake here which none of you are understanding. Killinan is NOT whining. As

Guildmaster of the Paladins I spend as much time as I can with all my Squires and Killinan is no

exception. He, more than any of them, has had what LW status means explained to him. Springdale does

NOT encourage its LWs to attack larger players and we do NOT encourage them to fell staves. I've

explained to Killinan what consequences he can expect from fighting so soon and what consequences he

can expect from attacking his peers in Thakria. The reason he is posting is because he knows that

attacking LWs, even though he is an LW himself, still warrants careful thought and he feels it

necessary to justify those actions in public so as not to be thought of as a butcher of the young.

That shouldn't be misinterpreted as whining.

If there is one thing you can be sure of, it is this: no Springdalian elder is foolish enough to

encourage the young to punch above their weight. We teach them politics, the basics of combat if

they feel ready to learn, but before any of that that we teach them the basics of geography and how

to equip themselves. That there is a hatred of Thakrians fermenting in Squire Killinan even before

his LW status has ended speaks volumes. It is your own doing and Thakria should accept responsibility

for it. He was attacked long before he became aggressive.

Personally, I'm quite glad Killinan has had a rough time. He is the type of character to weather the

storm and come out the other end determined to defend his home and his guild and even more determined

to kill those who have wronged him. I'm not sure every LW has his strength though, which is where the

problem is and which is why so much of a fuss is made when LWs are killed.

One final point I'd like to make is this: I spoke with Killinan in depth last night and he explained

his position fully. I support his decision and respect him greatly for standing his ground. He is now

aggressive towards those who have attacked him out of the blue and I KNOW earlier it has been out of

the blue because I've seen logs. There are now examples where he is the aggressor. You only have

yourselves to blame.

It is not coincidence that I see history repeat itself. I remember my first week in this land. As an

LW I had my swords stolen the day I got them, I caught my first arrow full in the face three days after

graduation before I even knew what Thakrians were. I will never complain about it. That arrow came from

the bow of Uwoiame, a person I have subsequently dominated. I supposes I should thank her for giving me

a baptism of fire. I expect to see Killinan doing exactly the same. I, like him, accept the consequences

of my actions. You should do the same beforee complaining about LWs interfering in group combat.

Killinan's decision to do so certainly didn't come from Springdale.

To paraphrase what Killinan himself said 'I get attacked as an LW when I do nothing, so I might aswell get

attacked while doing something'.

He has a fair point. Do you think it's just coincidence that the person shown to have killed Killinan

(Alister) has also been punished for stripping a different LW, and killed countless others?
