Just so it is believable how they could make this mistake then cry foul. Trying to outsmart me and kill some Thakrian troops when he was Mercinaen Dunccan managed to march a legion into the Pool of Life. So I find it believable that they both knew the requirements for flagging and screwed it up.

From someone who loves the challenge of warfare I find it a pity the divine felt the need to step in and change things willy nilly and take it out of mortal hands and consequences for mortal error.
