I for one do not find staves to be terribly overpowered--maybe because I am not
constantly pulverized by Kodiak. But I will have to agree with others who have objected to
certain uses of 'push'. I for one think that macros designed to push someone multiple times
are a little over the top. However, forcing push to be a balance skill probably limits LM's
more than is appropriate. If you want a balance-only push, you have thrustkick. Push needs to
have some advantage over thrustkick, as it (push) is harder to pull off.
The solution I would like to offer for discussion is for push to have its own balance. You
would still be able to link push to your other macros, put you would have to wait a second
or two before pushing again.
One other point I'd like to make is that an LM making themselves a place of relative safety
by setting up a bunch of staves is really not that different from options that other
professions have but typically do not use.
I, for instance, could create a 'death zone' using traps and other skills. I tend to find,
however, that when I do that, my enemies simply avoid those areas--and I am too aggressive to
simply wait for them to deal with it or qq. LM summon gives loremasters a bit of an
I do not have, perhaps, but LM summon is a different discussion entirely.
