It's quite an interesting subject, and I have what may seem a strange point of view.
Rather than condemn people who are just beginning to fight for retarding their development by using triggers, I believe that the opposite can often be true.
ignorance full an inexperienced combatant has some kind of automation for healing, then they are less likely to get confused and feel like they're trying to do a million things at once when they start to fight. If they have some kind of system, it mea
ns that they can concentrate on the offence and movement sides of things.
Provided they keep their eyes open, review logs, etc, it's almost certain that they will come to absorb some of the more common cures.

As time goes by, they can drop more and more of the automation and have it entirely manual, and thereby become better fighters. I believe, though, that to begin entirely bereft of any automation is unhelpful to the point of being crippling.
There's no doubt that the best fighters are those who do so without aid from Zmud, and I concur fully that Gem Quests, etc. should be triggerless as a true test of competence.
I don't, however, believe that a system should be seen as wholly backwards and unhelpful. Used correctly and as a supplement rather than a substitute for skills and learning, they are hugely beneficial in development.
Perhaps there will also be some way I can develop as a BB user, and learn to turn off parsing. One day... one day.
