I tend to agree with you that charming is a set avaliable to everyone

in Avalon (thanks to loremasters). I would LOVE to see magic items and

spells limited to only those with alchemy or charming. We tried that

for a short while with just pentacle items and the whole of Avalon

accused us of trying to ruin the game.

Take some comfort, however, in the knowledge that most professions have

a skillset or two that those professionals deem to be underpowered or

worthless.
