Citizen of Parrius | Artisans Guild | No Order |
Aphaia Born: 1-12-2007
Aphaia is a citizen of Parrius.
Aphaia holds Grand-Mistress rank in the Artisans Guild.
Aphaia is the only child of the famous sea captain and explorer, Nikos Thalassis. It is believed that her mother drowned in a terrible shipwreck (although some whisper that she is alive and working in a bar in the Thakrian docklands). Whatever the truth, her father arrived in Springdale one day with his baby daughter in his arms, swearing never again to be tempted by either woman or the sea. He managed to steer clear of matrimony but the lure of the ocean proved stronger. When Aphaia was nine years old, he headed off to find a ship.
With no parental supervision the young Aphaia grew up as a free spirit and remains so to this day. After school she joined the Craftmasters Guild where Miranda, their tutor, took an interest in the youngster. Aphaia worked happily beside her at the forge, and was a diligent, if slightly impatient, apprentice. Aphaia's interest in weaponry led her to re-open the city's Imperial Armoury, which was in a neglected state. Feeling restless as she grew older, and spurred on by rumours of extra-ordinary weapons being created by members of the Artisans Guild in Parrius, Aphaia joined them in the hope of learning some of their secrets to enhance her work. In Parrius she discovered both a cousin, Isiltari, and settled happily for a while in the city of pirates.
In 1248, when her patron, Lord Proteus (god of the sea) became patron of Mercinae she followed him to Avalon's great cityport of the south, to seek a new life within its ancient white-walls.
The Council of Lore accepted her request for Skymastery specialisation on the 27th day of Eleuthral 1294.
