Wax is an unusually important substance in Avalon. Not only are waxes used as an essential component of the Mysticism skill but it has a variety of other uses, many of which you will discover as your Avalon life progresses. One significant application worth mentioning here, however, is using wax on your city or guild's fortifications: to wax them, and thereby protect them from a variety of attacks. See HELP FORTS for details about fortifications and, for the sake of your city or guild's safety, it is advised ALL citizens familiarise themselves with the precautions of fort waxing detailed in the last paragraph of the HELP FORTS documentation.

It is possible, on the other hand, you may be seeking information on WAXING as a reference to revealing your inner light: surrounding your person with a splendid aura. This type of waxing is an important defence and is engendered by the kelventari herb. If you wish to wax your splendid aura (assuming you have the capability) then type WAX ON, and when you wish to remove it, type WAX OFF. The splendid kelventari aura has the by-product of lighting your way through dark locations.
