The undead are those beings or creations of the necromancer (of the Sorcerer profession) whose life-force has been perverted into a reanimation of a once-living creature or being, enslaved to the will of the sorcerous master. Zombies, ghouls and wraiths: all are undead entities. They can be fought via magical or physical means - and it is known that silver has potential to cause the greatest natural "hurt" to the undead being, if forged into the weapon used for physical attack.
The most feared aspect of these unholy creations are the so-called legions of the undead. These are the collected thralls of the Sorcerer, raised from the bodies of those slain and assembled into a legion of twisted and grotesque familiars. Legions of the undead are able to contend with legions of the living and in ancient times many a great historical battle was tipped against the forces of Good and Light by the arrival of some great Necromancer and his thousands-strong entourage of undead legionnaires.
Undead legions are many times more powerful, man for man, than the living soldiery from which regular legions are assembled. They battle without weapons yet strike as if fully armed. They defend without armour yet meet a strike as if fully clad. They can BESIEGE without battering rams yet assault the larger targets (fortifications, siegetowers, huorns/tree legions) as if each company is its own siege engine. The undead hate fire and loathe water but led by their master Sorcerer will endure all hardships to carry out their dread purpose.
