You will find statues dotted about the land, some of merely local significance, others as monuments to great historical events, but the most important - in one's everyday life - are likely to be the divine statues. These great depictions of members of the Avalon pantheon are the end-result of festivals (see HELP FESTIVALS) presided over by members of the priesthood. They embody a touch of the deity represented by the statue in their location, possessing a number of innate powers as well as keeping alive the reputation of the God even while he or she is absent from the land. Statues, like other great religious artifacts, are often a target for iconoclasts - particularly at times when Divine Orders are battling one another for the glory of their respective patrons. See HELP ICONOCLASM for information on the destruction of divine statues.
