There are three contentious issues re: interplay with legions - namely
doing so while pacifist, duellist or divinely protected. One of the
intentions with warfare was to create a whole facet of the Avalon
gameworld where melee was not the be-all and end-all; important though
it remains. Hence allowing everyone to interact with legions, even
in an aggressive capacity. I doubt Napoleon would have been the fine
campaigner he proved to be if he'd had to resort to physically fighting
his way to the top; yet mighty general he was.
So saying, divine protection as an ephemeral 'interlude' between
periods of combat can't be seen as the same as the definitive lifechoices
of duellism and pacifism. The debate over pacifists interacting
belligerently with legions can continue; but I'll make two rulings here
and now:
From the coming Avalon New Year, 1253, the divinely protected WILL be
restricted in their free use of legions; aggressive acts will offer the
choice of breaking protection or retaining it and not commiting 'em.
Duellist status, on the other hand, will be NO hindrance to free and
full use of legions in whatever capacity, aggressive or otherwise.
