In my opinion, there are two kinds of pacifists in Avalon. Those who choose it out of cowardliness, and those who choose it out of a real abhorance to a violent way of life.
I personally greatly discourage the former, and will often apply harsh punishments when they walk on the wrong side of line between legitimate actions and ones that are inappropriate.
However, being a true pacifist is not about rules and conventions. It is more about a personal outlook to one's life in Avalon. It is about feeling compassion for all fellow inhabitants of Avalon. It is about abhoring violence in all its forms (wars,
personal combat, team fights, and suchlike).
Having said that, pacifists are also human beings, with emotional attachments to personal friends, guilds, cities, and Orders. It is up to each pacifist to decide how much to betray their personal beliefs for the sake of these attachments.
It is my hope that each of you is able to look within, and decide for yourself why you're a pacifist and how much you believe in it. If you don't find that core of inner strength that grounds your faith, and the ability to uphold it in the face of adv
ersity, then I strongly urge you to not choose it next year.
