I actually was in an extremly nice situation for about four months at work.
The company I work for was in need of people to test their new SOCKS servers,
so I mentioned that Avalon would be a great way to fit the bill. You need a
consistent stream, not a lot of blocks of data going through at random times.
You also need to make certain you're not broadcasting your IP every five seconds,
and that if you do, you're broadcasting the one the SOCKS server gave you which, of
course, is not the true one. This and other things which needed testing made
it that much easier for the IT folks to look the other way.
Of course, my own boss wasn't as keen on this and explained away the need for
any further testing by saying I'd certainly done all I could with my use of

the server. Oh well, back to the mundane.
