You might have msitaken that Black Sun is one of the entourage Threap could have. No it's not meant to be under his bidding. The Black Sun is the son of two ancient gods and it's somewhat against the logic that this divine creature will submit to a

mortal. That said, it's however under Threap's scope of skills that he is able to lead Him. [shrug]

Allanon's Unicorn belongs to him and him only therefore there's no arguement on how he uses it.

Aerian, you should try out a friendly challenge with Arikarr, Cordon or Threap. It's very fun fighting with them. [chuckle]
