Right now there have been some interesting discussions on the Elders board in regards of trying to get everyone interested in fighting and conflict again. It's unfair for those of you who don't have access to those boards yet because we are talking about you a lot and what we can do to help
Jashari had a great post where I'll paraphrase that all of us can be guilty of making fighting miserable (including dancing through the bugs) and we all need to take some personal accountability on how are are making the problem worse as opposed to better.
Personally I get just as much enjoyment from an apt fighter asking questions and using me as a punching bag as I do fighting someone I really dislike and getting my sick thrills there. I'll also be trying to keep a check on my sadism and over killing as that is just letting my emotions control me at that point and I lose focus on the rest of the world and also lose focus that I may be crippling someone's desire to fight rather then inspire it.
I don't know where this goes from a role play stance. I can be an emotional creature and when friends and allies die it REALLY bothers me more then it should. I can't fight those fights for them and get resentful when they wont or can't return the favor in kind. Gets me all twitchy.
So any mid range or young inspiring fighters out there who are curious but concerned, tell us what we can do to help to make Avalon a more inspiring place to fight. I know anger is a good motivator but when too much pressure is applied it can crush a spirit before it's had a chance to harden.
