All,
There has been a discussion raging on the Elders board for some time now about the game environment, and how the violence which once gave the realm its identity, has waned since the days of myself, Elmak, Sajora, Dunccan and even the more recent Clara and Lukien, were growing up in Avalon.
The argument being made is thus: That the fresh to the land, returnees and middle-ground players are too coddled, have too many protections and that this is why they do not want to put themselves at risk.
More or less all of us are making a conscious effort to improve things in this regard and we all agree that more people getting into combat can only be a good thing.
I put the following question to the realm: What stops you from throwing yourself into the fray?
Is it lack of desire? Lack of training, knowledge, equipment, time?
I am genuinely curious to know what the obstacles to this entry point are, so that we as elders of the land can put more time into overcoming them.
The only answer I will not accept as valid is something along the lines of \"I just get killed all the time\" because unfortunately as anyone of sufficient experience will know - that IS the price of becoming good at fighting.
Look forward to responses,
Salvador
