The subject of your post was somewhat misleading: Rangers. The brigands aren't Rangers. They really, really want to be Rangers but that would require that they actually evolve beyond their sole reason for existing: picking whores for those without reliable access to poisons and herbs.

The fact that their guildmaster is a self-professed non-fighter and spends his time finding new and inventive ways to abuse his status as a duelist (although shouldn't a duelist actually, you know, duel?) probably doesn't help their plight.
