As I am still a child, I can't acess the elders section, but I will humor you with a short statement on spiritualism.
Spiritualism was originally a skillset of animists, designed for helping people and defending themselves. Most of the skills aide in that, either by protecting the animist or enabling location/access of people in need of help.
Because the skills are so very powerful (the ability to see past any disguise a thief comes up with, even cat, all by one simple command - the ability to portal and summon - the ability to bring people back to life), the animists have made a politics out of the skillset. For example, resses are only given if the person has died through accident or in defence. All cities are allowed this service, provided they follow the rules, etc.
Now, paladins having the ability to res tweaks with this - one of the animists only sources of power! - far too much. Should Springdale wish to, they could completely forsake and abuse animists, and there is no punishment the animists can give in return, since even if they denied resses, paladins can simply do it instead.
Animists' use of spiritualism is non-partisan - if it is biased, there are strong reasons behind those at the time. Paladins use is completely biased, and I'd be shocked to hear them deny it, or not be proud of it. They use the skillset in defence (and offence) of city and guild and order.
The point where the skillset gets to be simply unbearable is when there are pw paladins (yes, pacifist knights!). Then, they can run about watching people, summoning, portaling people to fights, ressing - but there is no way we can exact punishment. With any fighting paladin, we can attack them if they res someone, since it makes them lose dp, and there is a cost - but if they are pw, we can't do anything. Use of the skills in such a partisan fashion without any fear of retribution is when it goes too
far.
