Trapping.

You also mention trapping in your post. I firmly believe that trapping does need some major work, but then again with only a handful of people actively using it at any given time, it is much harder to see the effects of any balancing. Of course, just as my opinion as a loan bandit is not sufficient, neither is the opinion of a loan Ranger. Unlike Knights, Mages and Loremasters high level trappers who use their skills are few and far between.

However, I would like to state something I feel is fairly obvious. If darts and binding traps were changed to be directional as you recommend, then they would simply never be used. Given the choice between three \"top traps\"; landing a regular stream of poisons on someone (darts), or binding them up in a binding trap (binding) or slicing them in two dealing HUGE damage and inflicting terrible bleeding (slayer). Which do you think we would be using?

Clearly, the only reason you see darts and bindings in use at all is that they can be targeted at a person, rather then on a direction of movement. Now, as defences are available to both darts and binding traps which work in your current location, I recommend you invest a little time brushing up against a profession that until fairly recently has not graced the battlefield.

You should be the first to admit that you are intermittently in the land; maybe the problem comes from your unfamiliarity with these tactics rather than the skills themselves. In addition, I while I agree that anyone who does nothing beyond the same tactic again and again proves very frustrating to fight, in the long term it's the versatility of the combatant which wins out. Something that I believe you have proven yourself to be very skilled at.
