Duels were long turned off because of people using them as protection for such diverse things as stave felling, settings, lesson gain, and even mining.

I have also seen a duel where someone issues it, and upon acceptance, promptly logs off. Rendering the other member of the duel from doing much else.

If these sort of things continue, we are doing to see duels vanish again. Now do we really want that to happen?
