Sorcerers and knights are very strong offensive professions, and I find it a bit
silly that Grymauch complains about Threap's style of fighting since, frankly, it
takes more wits to fight effectively as a sorcerer than a knight.
Abydos, the bard skillset is probably the most powerful in Avalon, barring perhaps
a well-played seer. It is also extremely difficult to master, which is why effective
bards are few and far between. I can only think of three, really: Isildur, Babidi, and
to an extent Culinane. Bards are also extremely well-suited for fighting sorcerers,
both in dealing with the demons and keeping yourself alive. Perhaps as you gain more
experience you'll begin to see this.
Frankly, Threap's post is the only one in this conversation that made much sense. He's
been doing this for 200 years, with a large part of that spent as a sorcerer. You've been
a bard for 3. As you grow, you'll continue to learn.
