I suppose it's heartening to see so many relatively young fighting players bitch and squall about teaming and injustice, slinging accusations to all sides and even dragging poor 'good and evil' into the fray.
It is worth noting, though, if only for the sake of history that this behavior isn't as common as it once was.
Before the anchor rune (poor thieves) and when the cities were a bit more balanced in terms of the number of elder competent fighters, the bloodbath was much greater, and justice wasn't enforced by the gods and the system - it was more an extension of
the willpower of whomever was spitting/dancing/singing/splashing you.
I recall ranting relentlessly on the bb about being teamed by Allanon's Mercinean crew immediately upon logging on, but I posted mainly becasue I was frankly too incompetent at the time to manage any non-verbal defense.
I understood that was Mercinean justice, and the Mercineans can define justice however they want. As can the Thakrians. We lived with it, and if we posted once as younglings in objection, the system didn't protect us with bloodlust and pacifism and co
mmodity sheds and barracks.
For whatever it's worth, I lament the passing of those old days and quietly cheer everyone in Avalon who's been teamed and not posted sullenly about it.
