In recent days Avalon appears to be running its own pantomime. Cries of yes it does, and no it doesn't - fill the air.

I have a particular interest in this subject, as if indeed it is true that all unicorns scythe malloran I was a fool indeed for the number of times that I had to type cancel aura when I was a loremaster.

With the very kind assistance of Blotto, her unicorn, and Meerkat (the target) - we have carried out a controlled trial.

Just so everyone is clear - we tried every conceivable command structure that we could think of in terms of order and content along the lines of order xxx slay meerkat, order xxx hostile, enemy meerkat 100.

The result was fairly conclusive that Blotto's unicorn could scythe and would - and mine would not.

This is entirely consistent with the situation that was described to me by my patron when he created my unicorn - that some people's unicorns seemed to have a scything variable within them, similar to that expressed in certain CCCs.

At that time - the ones that could scythe seemed to belong to the older more established players - and this seemed right and proper to me as it was a reward for their eminence. It now appears that newer unicorns that are being created have this scyth

e ability, and that effectively a block of unicorns in the middle are bereft.

A unicorn is a reward or acknowledgement of your mastery of the skills of avalon. If newer unicorns are going to have this facility of scythe, I think that it is only right that all unicorns should have this facility.
