Congratulations to Mercinae on their historic achievement <shiver>.
However, perhaps it all is a blessing in disguise.
What happens when you don't have a bunch of city buildings to protect?
Why, you don't have to spend a whole heap of time protecting them, enlisting men or any other boring chore for that matter.
Perhaps it is time for a new concept in Avalon - the genuine rise of the barbarian.
Sure, we have had the odd player go cityless and guildless often enough.
Now though a mass of dis-affected non-pacifists who think that harvesting and doing comms and building armies is just a waste of time could go their own way - free of city or guild.
They could fight amongst themselves, fight with the odd city-loyalist and plunder wherever plunder was to be had.
Let the city folk raise up youngsters, only to watch them drift off to the more exciting life of a freebooter.
Planting, harvesting, blowing glass, spinning cotton, enlisting - bah! A pox on them all.
