As many have said balance is very important in fights.
I find it very interesting that the majority of posters are EX-mages.
If the mage skill set was too strong using two man rituals why dont we dominate the fighting world?
And why have so many mages left the profession recently?
Is it actually because there are many ways of getting out of rituals be it one man or two man rituals, and even more ways of getting the mage out.
It always amazes me how other professions seem to want to constantly undermine the mage skillset.
In the past Truealkar was changed from convergible to non convergible precisely because of a perceived imbalance against the knights.
However all that happened was a formerly strong attractive skill set was undermined and balance against knights went the other way.
These attempts to make the same changes to armageddon are dis-ingenuous and destructive.
Another sketcher merely enables a ritual to happen - another mage is not needed to further support the ritual.
Therefore this is a big difference from the bardic analogy.
I really do object to being told by people what skills i can and cannot use in a challenge.
Maybe on that basis a sorceror challenger to me would not use Death or another demon, a paladin not use grimleaf, or a seer not use a allheal potion.
The mage skillset should be used the best way any mage can.
Further undermining of our skill set would devalue the mage profession, the land and is an insult to mages as a whole.
