two man songs are extremely weak... anyone that dies to aria deserved it, really. that is WAY too easy to defend against / counter

The counterbalance to the weakness of 2man songs is that a bard is an extremely mobile fighter... bards are an all-around profession, capable of damaging (ult cry does about 6 or 700 damage), disabling (dramatics are killer for that) and healing (tale

does roughly as much health restoration as cry does damage) so why would you need to bother with much of anything else? They're extremely mobile, and ranged, so what's the deal? 2man songs can't even BEGIN to be compared with 2man rits

Armageddon's main function is the same thing as a knight poisoning their sword, with the added bonus of a little mana drain... okay, a LOT of mana drain, but if you can withstand a knight jj'ing you full of poisons, or a thief doublestabbing you full

of poisons, or a ranger rapid firing poisons at you through arrowshields, then you can easily handle armageddon

As Zakath said, the guidelines are set by what converges and what doesn't. Magnification, girdling, power and truealkar don't converge, and for good reason. truealkar gives everyone BUT a mage's enemies an alkar every 8 seconds or so, power resurrects

them the first time they die, girdling makes you flee from the location and prevents you from re-entry, and magnification makes some candescence and all charming affect the entire traversal area around the mage

Those still aren't grossly powerful, as magnification requires more than one person with items and / or charming to be truly effective, alkar is broken by anything on the mages part, girdling is countered by running and perserverence, (or a friendly s

eer or bard) and power ritual is dropped the first time we die, which isn't that hard to do (ask orinoko *laugh*)

So there really can't be much of a comparison between the two, really.
