I must admit, your post intrigues me. You said -

You pulled that \"throw sword to Dunccan\" trick on me the other night
as you were attacking within my city. I seem to recall that I didn't
continue the attack (as I was quite dead). I also recall I took the \"theft\"
with good nature and you complimented me for not \"whining\" about it. I
even offered to buy the blade back from you.
I wonder why it was you didn't feel honour bound to return my blade.
Perhaps this is simply a case of situational ethics?
