The gods have done no such thing as forbid the use of emotes in fights. Even if they have, I'm certainly not party to any such mandate.

If anyone is stupid enough rely on triggers to win a fight rather than their own skills and abilities, then I'm all for anything the opponent might do to foil such a cheap tactic.
