It would appear that BT took a disliking to the various 56K modems I had tried, and was the cause of

much of my link problems. Now I've switched back to my 33.6K, my link is down to normal lag (so ner, zakath, i wasn't imagining it after all)

Having mainly recovered from the pneumonia, I'm back in business again, so if any thaks want

to attack a poor old incompetent mage before I get some practise in, now's your best chance :)
