I know for a fact 4chan gets into stuff because I've been there when they've done it (morbid curiosity). One incident that really sticks out in my mind is when they posted the address, telephone number, work number, and email of a white supremacist on Myspace. More specifically, that's b. t? They were the ones who posted the owner's information all over the place, even though Digg and other sites did share in the shock.

They still do all sorts of stuff, including DDOSs. Don't let them lull you into a false sense of security.
